This is the second in a series after Gods of Manhattan. Until I figured out that this was a sequel, the story line was just confusing. A note on the book jacket identifying book one would have been helpful. As I read, I was able to better understand what was happening. This book was exciting and well-written, making me want to read the first one in the series. The plot was fresh and inventive with engaging characters. The author would appeal to a broader audience by avoiding some occasional but unnecessary curse words.
