South Sound Book Review Council

PURPOSE

The purpose of the South Sound Book Review Council (SSBRC) is to read and review all types of newly published school library books, primarily elementary and young-adult literature and non-fiction works. SSBRC will help all librarians make informed library collection choices in a timely and cost-effective manner. SSBRC, a federal and a Washington state recognized non-profit organization, is exclusively organized for the improvement of education and public welfare.

MEMBERSHIP

All libraries, school and public, within the ESD 113 region are eligible for membership.

Members are not required to attend the monthly meetings (September-May) although attendance is highly recommended. However, each member is required to read and write a review for each book he/she takes from the book review selection cart. All complementary books received from publishers are donated to the membership school libraries or public libraries.

Annual dues will support SSBRC. Dues are used solely for operating costs.
